The 4 Reasons why you want LOX Patient Oxygen

Reduced weight
Liquid oxygen increases in volume 860 times as it converts from a liquid to a gas. That means a smaller amount of LOX will produce a large volume of gas, reducing weight on the helicopter by eliminating the need for multiple cylinders without sacrificing capability.

Increased space
The same 1:860 liquid to gas ratio that reduces the cargo weight also increases the amount of available space on a helicopter. A single LOX converter eliminates the need for carrying multiple high-pressure cylinders, increasing the amount of usable space while supplying more gaseous oxygen.

Safety
LOX systems have operating pressures under 100 psi, as compared to high-pressure cylinders at 1800-2200 psi. This makes the units less volatile and therefore safer in the event of an accident.

Reduces Operating Costs
Because of the increased capacity, LOX allows a team to fly more missions between refilling which reduces maintenance time spent servicing the system.

The BMOS Backpack Medical Oxygen System goes in-line with the four primary benefits!

What are the typical uses for LOX Devices technology?
The typical use for LOX is to provide breathable oxygen for life support.

There are LOX converters designed to supply oxygen for pilots and crew of transport aircraft, ems helicopters and more.

LOX systems are found on both fixed wing and rotary medevac platforms, where they provide direct support for patients and run oxygen-powered devices, such as ventilators.

Now let’s talk about the Backpack Medical Oxygen System (BMOS), click here for specs which is a portable medical oxygen system that is easily carried into the field and a Vital Part to the Success of the HAA Flight.

The Backpack Medical Oxygen System BMOS is a low pressure, portable 2.0 liter liquid oxygen storage and gaseous delivery system, capable of supplying up to 1720 gaseous liters of oxygen at a maximum flow rate of 15 liters per minute at 50 psig.

A built-in flow control valve delivers oxygen to a single patient at flow rates from 0.5 to 15 liters per minute.

The BMOS has been successfully tested to work in tandem with commonly used ventilators.

Weighing just 19 pounds when full, the BMOS can be carried or worn by parachutists and ground support personnel.

The BMOS requires no external power and uses just six AA-batteries for the quantity indicator.

The system has been tested to MIL-STD-810.

A secondary accessory port can supply 50 psi of oxygen to other medical devices or to an oxygen regulator for a second patient.
